Managing notifications on iPhone 15 Pro Max is easy with the new notification options in iOS 15. Grouping helps you sort through alerts and Messages threads without having to open each app.
You can also set up a schedule so you receive a summary of grouped notifications in the morning and evening.
Using on-device intelligence, notifications are grouped and prioritized for delivery throughout the day to help you focus. You’ll receive notifications you need most immediately, like messages from people and events in Calendar, while others may be delivered later, such as reminders from apps or other scheduled alerts.
Your notifications appear on the Lock screen in a stack view or list, and you can expand each one to see more details. You can also view your notification history and perform quick actions on a group of notifications at once if the app supports it.
Time Sensitive notifications are a new level of interruption introduced in iOS 15. These high-priority alerts will break through system controls and may trigger sounds or a visual banner, such as a live stream from a followed channel or celebrity, or a reminder to take medication at a specific time. Apps that use this feature must request your permission to deliver Time Sensitive notifications.
The newest apple iphone 15 Pro Max version intelligently segregates notifications from the same app into groups to prevent Notification Center from becoming too cluttered. This helps keep alerts organized and makes it easier to access important updates.
However, you can change how your notifications are grouped. Tap Settings and choose the individual app to open its notification settings. From here, you can change grouping to By App, Automatic or Off.
With the latter two options, you’ll only receive a group when it makes sense. For example, if you have multiple ongoing conversations in Messages or WhatsApp, iOS will separate them out into separate groups to avoid message crossover.
You can also customize how non-urgent notifications are delivered. You can choose to deliver them quietly, prominently or badge the app icon, or you can enable Scheduled Summary to get a daily synopsis of your unread messages at a specific time. With these settings, you can get the most out of your iPhone’s notification management features.
Do Not Disturb
Do Not Disturb silences audible alerts, hides notifications from your screen, and disables the phone’s vibrate feature. It will still allow you to receive text messages and calls, though.
You can turn this on from the Quick Settings panel in Control Center, which you can access by swiping down or pressing on the Home or Lock screen. You can also set a schedule to automatically enable Do Not Disturb for specific times of the day.
The Do Not Disturb menu has three options: Total Silence, Alarms Only, or Priority only (plus a Custom option). Tap the cogwheel icon to get more scheduling and settings choices.
During Do Not Disturb, your grouped notifications will collect in a special notification summary that you can see when you return to your iPhone. This will include all of your new notifications, and you can choose to select which ones to display. You can also choose to receive your grouped notifications in your Notifications summary at a time of your choosing.
Apple’s new Focus mode is a great feature to help you reduce distractions and create work-life balance. It allows you to set up modes such as Work, Personal, Sleep, and more that can block certain apps and messages during those specific times.
After you’ve added a Focus mode, you can further customize the settings by tapping on Options. You can specify which people and apps will send you notifications when the mode is active, and there are toggles for showing silenced notifications on the Lock screen or in Notification Center. Other options include dimming the Lock screen and hiding notification badges on Home Screen apps.
You can also share a Focus mode with other Apple devices that are registered to the same Apple ID. The shared Focus mode will automatically activate on those devices at the designated time. You can further customise a focus mode by tapping on the summary screen for that specific Focus mode and choosing the name and appearance of the mode.
