Tajinder Singh Hayer is a playwright and a creative writing lecturer at Lancaster University. He has been writer on attachment at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and writer in residence at BBC Radio Drama Manchester. He has written and translated plays for the former (Players in 2005, Antelopes in 2006 and Mela in 2008). He has also written work for Menagerie Theatre Company, Look Left, Look Right Theatre Company, the Arcola Theatre, Peshkar Productions and the Old Red Lion Theatre. His radio plays have been broadcast on BBC Radio Four, Radio Three and the Asian Network. His work has been broadcast on the national television whilst his short films have been shown at festivals across the world. He is currently completing a PhD in Creative Writing at Anglia Ruskin University. As part of this, he has written a post-apocalyptic play, North Country, which is being produced by Freedom Studios.
