Laura Hird is the author of many works including ‘Dear Laura: Letters from a Mother to her Daughter’ and ‘Hope and Other Urban Tales’ and will be offering help and advice on how to write the poetry you love.
She will be offering the chance for all students to bring along a poem which has particular resonance to them. These can be well known or obscure but should be no longer than about 12 lines or can be extracts from longer poems. These poems will then be used as a springboard for ideas whereby each participant will produce two pieces of writing, either both poems on one piece of poetry and one piece of prose.
To secure a place at the workshop email A.JaegerHansen@mdx.ac.uk. Please be sure to make it to the venue (the Boardroom, C219, College Building) 10 minutes before the workshop starts. Any free spaces on the day will be on a first come first serve basis.
